Convention Center Complex

At the center of the Irving Transit Oriented Development District is the new Irving Convention Center and Entertainment Venue. This dynamic venture will include a convention center, an entertainment venue for contemporary live performances, a full service hotel, associated parking facilities, retail establishments and restaurants. The project is the culmination of a series of visitor-development studies commissioned by the City of Irving (from PricewaterhouseCoopers and CH Johnson Consulting), which identified specific market opportunities for Irving.

The convention center will feature a 50,000 square-foot exhibit hall, a 20,000 square-foot ballroom, and an additional 30,000 square feet in breakout/other meeting space. Structured parking on the site will accommodate approximately 1,000 spaces for the convention center use.

Adjacent to the convention center will be a world-class entertainment venue designed to accommodate contemporary live performances. The entertainment complex will range in size from 2,500–5,000 seats. The City of Irving would partner with a professional entertainment venue operator and promoter to manage and schedule the facility, in cooperation with the convention center management.

The center will be at the heart of the TOD and opportunities are plentiful to benefit from this world-class convention and entertainment facility. The area is prime for the development of an additional hotel, restaurant and retail development, and luxury condominium residences, plus the necessary parking spaces to accommodate the hotel and retail uses.
